Leaf Collection Schedule - SPRING LEAF COLLECTION 2009
The Township of Mount Laurel will implement a new plan for the collection of loose leaves beginning with the 2009 spring leaf collection
• Signs will be posted one week prior to the collection of leaves rather than having a scheduled date
• Leaves must be raked to the area between the curb and sidewalk by 7:00 am of the posted week
• Pursuant to the municipal storm water management regulations adopted by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, leaves may not be placed in the roadway or within ten (10') feet of a storm drain.
• Brush must not be mixed with the leaves
• Wet weather may delay the removal of leaves, however they will be picked up as soon as possible thereafter
• It is suggested, at this time, that residents begin using biodegradable leaf bags if bagging
• Please do not place bagged leaves with trash. Also, do not put loose leaves in waste receptacles. They will not be collected with your normal trash collection
• If residents are bagging leaves, Public Works must be called for collection. Phone number (856) 234-2070
If you are planning to drop off leaves or brush:
Residents should only bring leaves and brush to the Pike Road Complex.
PLEASE BAG YOUR LEAVES. THIS WOULD BE HELPFUL TO US. CALL PUBLIC WORKS FOR PICKUP. BAGGED LEAVES WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE
SCHEDULE AND CAN BE PICKED UP AT ANYTIME. BAGGED LEAVES CANNOT BE
PLACED WITH REGULAR TRASH. LEAVES PUT IN WASTE RECEPTACLES WILL NOT
BE PICKED UP. ALL LEAVES MUST BE SEPARATED FROM NORMAL TRASH.
If you rake your leaves, then....
Leaves must be raked to the curb area by 7a.m. on the Monday of your scheduled collection week.
Pursuant to the newly adopted Municipal Storm Water Management Regulations adopted by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, LEAVES MAY NOT BE PLACED IN THE ROADWAY OR WITHIN TEN FEET (10') OF A STORM DRAIN.
Leaves cannot be placed at the curb any sooner than seven (7) days before
your regular collection week. THIS IS A MANDATORY STATE REGULATION.
Leaves mixed with brush or other refuse will not be collected. All leaves
must be placed in front of your property and not to the rear.Inclement
weather may delay pickup, however, leaves will be picked up as soon as possible
thereafter.
After your scheduled collection dates, loose leaves will not be
picked up again until the fall collection. Additional leaves must be
bagged, placed at the curb and Public Works should be called at (856) 234-2070
for bag pickup.
The Public Works Department sincerely appreciates your cooperation with the
leaf collection process including the new requirements imposed by NJDEP.
